I am here with a review of another product from Earth Rhythm. It is a Murumuru butter shampoo bar for curly and frizzy hair. If you are skeptical about shampoo bars in general, this post is for you to keep on reading to know more. 

What is a shampoo bar? It is shampoo but in solid form, it is not regular soap. Why shampoo bar instead of shampoo? Because this is in solid form and doesn't need a plastic bottle to store, hence reduces plastic wastage. Also, the shampoo bars last really long.

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Decyl Glucoside, Diacyloylethyl hydroxyethylmonium methosulfate, and Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine and Behenyl Alcohol and Lactic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium 10, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Phenoxyethanol (and) Triethylene glycol.


Key ingredients:

  • Murumuru Butter: coats coarse curls, making them more supple and manageable. It also moisturizes the hair with lasting hydration, controlling frizz and defining curls.
  • Plant-Derived Surfactant: An extremely gentle surfactant derived from coconut oil, improves skin hydration, moisture, and texture, preventing dryness and irritation.
  • Vitamin E: supports a healthy scalp and hair as it has natural antioxidant effects that could assist with maintaining hair growth.

Directions for use:

Wet your hair thoroughly with warm water. Moisten the bar and then rub it directly through your hair from scalp to ends, working up a thick lather with the pads of your fingers (do not use your fingernails).

Rinse thoroughly with warm water until all of the shampoo lather is removed.

My experience with the product:

Packaging:  Earth Rhythm shampoo bar comes in two types of packaging. One comes in a tin case (MRP: 649/-) and the other one comes in a cardboard box without a tin case (MRP 449/-) 

Colour and texture:  The murumuru butter shampoo bar is light blue in color. The texture of the bar is a bit rough and some particles can be seen. But it lathers really well.

Fragrance:  It has a very mild and pleasant fragrance. Not overpowering. Love how my hair smells after shampooing, however, the fragrance doesn't last long. 

Who is this for?  This variant of shampoo bar is made specifically for people with dry, frizzy, and curly hair. It helps control the frizz. 

First impression:  I was skeptical about shampoo bars because I have never used them before. But I was very happy from the very first use. The shampoo bar lathers well, made my hair really soft. 

How long I have been using it? I have been using it for 2 months now. 

How I like to use it? I like to shampoo my hair only after oiling my hair well. I focus mainly on the scalp. After I am done shampooing with this shampoo bar, I follow it up with conditioner. 

Effects on my hair:  I am really happy and satisfied with the concept of a shampoo bar. Murumuru butter shampoo bar in specific has helped my frizzy hair a lot. From the very first use, my hair feels soft and manageable. With continuous use, my hair feels more healthy. Since it doesn't contain sulfates and it is very gentle on hair and scalp, sometimes I feel like there's a buildup on my scalp, so I use some other shampoo once or twice a month. (I shampoo my hair with earth rhythm shampoo bar four times, the 5th time I use another shampoo for deep cleanse, you can consider doing this if you oil your hair regularly.) That works best for me.  I am also happy with the fact that this shampoo bar does not contain harmful chemicals and sulfates. 

Will I repurchase it?  Definitely yes. But I would love to try other variants meant for frizzy hair and hair fall. 

Do I recommend it? Yes, you will definitely love it.

  • Formulated without harmful chemicals. No sulphates.
  • It is very gentle on the hair.
  • Lathers and cleanses hair and scalp well. 
  • Makes my hair soft and manageable. Helps control frizz to some extent. 
  • Suits my dry frizzy and unmanageable hair.
  • Doesn't causes hair fall. (I usually face hair fall issues when I change my shampoo)
  • Make sure to rinse the hair well after shampooing with this shampoo bar. 
  • Follow up with conditioner and hair serum for better results.
  • The shampoo bar comes in a tin case or cardboard box, hence no plastic is being used.
