Good Vibes Lavender Essential Oil : Review, benefits, price and more

I am back with a review of Good Vibes Lavender Essential oil. 

The scientific name of Lavender is Lavandula. It is a genus of 47 known species of flowering plants in the mint family. It is found in Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, and from Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast Asia.

The lavender essential oil is obtained from the lavender plant (plant part used: flower). Lavender essential is commonly used in aromatherapy for its soothing, calming and stress-relieving properties. Along with this, lavender is also beneficial for our skin and hair.

Directions to use:

• Mix 3-4 drops into 5ml of any carrier oil and apply on skin to reduce acne and wrinkles.
• Mix 5-6 drops into 10-15ml of any carrier oil and massage on scalp to prevent dandruff, reduce hair-fall, and promote hair growth.
• Add 5-6 drops in the diffuser or simply add a few drops on a cotton ball and keep it in the room to alleviate your mood and calm senses.
• Mix a tiny amount of lavender essential oil with some aloe vera gel and apply it on the face for acne and irritated skin.
• Mix 1 drop of this essential oil into a DIY face mask.

My experience with the product:

Packaging: It comes in a dark blue glass bottle packaging with a golden color cap. It has a very sturdy and travel-friendly packaging. The only drawback is, it doesn't come with a dropper. (If you have or use any other product from good vibes that has a drop, you can use it for this essential oil.)

Colour, texture, and fragrance: Lavender essential oil is colorless. The texture is very light, not sticky at all. It has an earthy floral and relaxing fragrance. However, the fragrance is strong.

I am using this Lavender Essential Oil for a year now. I am still using the first bottle. It lasted me so long because I discontinued the use for quite some time for no particular reason.

In the beginning, I mixed it with aloe vera gel and applied it to the entire face. It helps to soothe irritated skin. However, I am not sure if it helps with acne because have been using Good Vibes Tea Tree Essential Oil for acne. I didn't get any tremendous results from this essential oil. 

Later on, I stopped using this oil on my face and started using it with my hair oil. I add 3-4 drops of Lavender Essential oil with some coconut oil and massaged it on the scalp. Again, didn't find much of a difference. However, I continued using it with my hair oil. I use tea tree oil also along with lavender essential oil with coconut oil, I am not sure which one of it helped me with dandruff.

Sometimes, I add it to bath water for a relaxed and refreshed feel. I do this on stress full days. It helps reduce stress to a greater extent. 

Make sure to dilute it well with other carrier oils or aloe vera gel before using it. You can dilute it even more than mentioned above if you are new to essential oils. This is definitely not something to experiment with. 

There are high chances that essential oils (especially Good Vibes Essential Oils) can cause a burning sensation on your skin and make it red if used in higher concentrations. Please do a patch test before you.

Here is what you can do if you experience a burning sensation after rising this essential oil: Do not wash it with water directly, it can irritate your skin more. Apply and massage more oil or aloe vera gel (preferably oil) wherever burning sensation occurs. Wipe off excess oil with a cotton pad. Be very gentle while doing this. You may wash off the affected area once your skin is calmed down.

Also, it was much cheaper when I bought it a year ago. I got a 10ml product for 165 INR. And now 5ml of the product retails for 285 INR. I am assuming they might have changed the formula and ingredients. I don't know if there is any other reason. I also don't know if there any difference in the quality because I haven't tried the newer version.

Will I repurchase it? Probably not. I would like to try some other essential oil from Good Vibes.
