Plum Green Tea Pore Cleansing Face Wash Review

I have the trial-size product, not the full size. In the end, I have given all the information on how I got this trial size product.

Product Specifications:

  • Brand: Plum
  • Category: Face wash
  • Variant: Green tea range (especially for oily, acne-prone skin)
  • Other variants available: Aloe, chamomile & white tea, Grapeseed & Sea buckthorn, Bright years, and Vitamin E (for different skin types and skin concerns)
  • Net vol: 75 ml, 120 ml (15 ml: trial size)
  • MRP: 345/- for 75ml, 495/- for 120 ml
  • Shelf life: 2 years, use within 6 months after opening.
  • Skin type: Normal, oily, acne-prone, and combination skin types.
  • Not suitable for: Dry skin types.

Ingredient list:

Aqua (Water), Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES), Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Triethanolamine, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Glycolic Acid, Cellulose Beads, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Gluconate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance, CI 19140, CI 42090

It has fragrance but not very strong. A little bit of fragrance in facewash is fine in my opinion. Because face wash is a wash-off product.

Key Ingredients:

Glycolic acid: The ultimate powerhouse of exfoliation. This will gently yet effectively rid your skin surface of old and dead skin cells in order to make way for the new ones. No more dull skin, acne, or clogged pores!

Green  Tea Extract: This is proof that you can do more with your green tea than just drink it. This natural antioxidant effectively combats acne and leaves you with clear, refreshed, healthy skin.

Natural Cellulose Beads: None of those rough plastic beads to be found here! These soft cellulose beads are all-natural and provide your skin the gentle exfoliation it deserves. It’s good for the planet, and for your skin.

Directions for use:

Take a smaller-than-coin-sized amount on your palm. Lather up the goodness on your wet face, rinse off and pat dry with a towel. Use twice a day for best results and follow with a moisturizer.

Caution:

  • I didn't find any such cautions on the packaging. However, make sure to follow the basic cautions like:
  • Do a patch test for your own satisfaction.
  • Avoid contact with eyes. Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

My experience with the product:

Packaging: The trial size product comes in a small white plastic tube packaging. The full-size product also comes in the same packaging but has a transparent screw cap.

Colour and texture: Plum Green tea pore cleansing face wash has a greenish color and transparent gel texture with very few green colored cellulose beads here and there. It has a super light, non-greasy texture making it perfect for oily skin types.

Fragrance: The fragrance is very mild. Definitely not overpowering.

Skin type: Suits normal, oily, combination, and acne-prone skin types. I have an oily acne-prone skin type, it suits me well. Not suitable for dry skin types.

First impression: I was skeptical about this product, so got the trial size. When I used it for the first time, I was fine with the fragrance. I liked its lightweight gel texture and foams up well, also the pea-size amount of face wash is enough for the whole face. However, I was a bit annoyed by those cellulose beads, those feel plasticky and unnecessary in my opinion. Little goes a long way.

How long I have used it? I have used it for 2 weeks now (15 days). I use it in the morning because it is a gentle cleanser.

How I like to use it? I use to wash my face as I use any other cleanser. If I use this face wash in the night skincare routine, then I make sure to double cleanse to get rid of sunscreen or makeup. Then I use this face wash as a second cleanser.

Effect on my skin: Plum green tea pore cleansing face wash is gentle on the skin and doesn't dry out the skin. However, I didn't find any noticeable difference on the skin. It never caused any irritation on the skin and it never broke me out, that's the plus point. I like everything about this face wash except for the cellulose beads in it. I don't understand the purpose of these, there are only a few here and there. I am not sure how well does it help with exfoliation. Those cellulose beads are unnecessary in my opinion. If I need exfoliation, I would just buy a separate exfoliator of my choice instead of getting a two in one product.

Will I repurchase it? Yes, I will definitely get a full-sized product. It is a decent and gentle cleanser.

Do I recommend it? I recommend it to people with oily, combination, and acne-prone skin.

Conclusion:

  • Has a super light gel texture.
  • Gentle on the skin, doesn't dry out the skin.
  • Not really suitable for teens below 17 because it has glycolic acid.
  • Suits people with oily, combination, and acne-prone skin.
  • A big no people with dry skin types.
  • Doesn't trigger fungal acne.
  • Did not irritate or cause breakouts.
  • Has fragrance but very mild.
  • Has cellulose beads for mild exfoliation, which is unnecessary in my opinion.
  • Little goes a long way.
  • Decent face wash for people with oily and acne-prone skin.
