For oily, acne-prone, and combi skin types.
Not recommended for: Cystic acne, dry skin, extremely sensitive skin.

About the brand:

Plum is an Indian brand. It makes cruelty free products. Also, the products are free from parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, SLS, and animal-derived ingredients. Plum has a whole Green tea range dedicated to oily, combi, acne-prone skin types. It has a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer for a complete C-T-M routine. And there is a separate range of products for people with dry skin types.
More face washes, moisturizers, and toners for oily and acne-prone skin.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Glycerine, PEG-40  Hydrogenated Castor oil, Camellia Sinesis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Sodium Gluconate, Phenoxy-ethanol, Glycolic acid, Ethylhexyglycerine, Fragrance.

Active ingredients:

  • Green tea extract: A great natural astringent (tightens pores). Green tea is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and provides the skin with nourishing antioxidants to decrease the signs of aging.
  • Glycerine: Glycerine is an AHA (Alpha hydroxy acid) that helps in gentle exfoliation of dead cells. That helps keep skin refreshed and renewed.

Directions to use:

After cleansing your face, pour a small amount of toner on the palm and apply it to the face, and dab it. Let it air dry. Don't wipe it off. You can also use a cotton ball to dab the toner over your face (that will cause wastage of product, so I like to take it on the palm and apply it with fingers).
Give special attention to the T-zone, forehead, nose, and chin areas.
SHAKE THE BOTTLE WELL BEFORE USE.

Claims:

  • Non-drying alcohol-free toner.
  • Shrinks pores and tightens skin.
  • Tones and clarifies skin.
  • Controls acne and blemishes.
  • Rich in green tea that helps prevent acne.
  • Glycolic acid helps to keep skin rejuvenated.
  • Gentle hydration from just the right amount of glycerine.

Packaging:

Plum green tea alcohol-free toner comes in a white plastic bottle. It is opaque, hence you cannot see how much product is left in the bottle. It has a press open cap, that has no control over the amount of product dispensed. That sometimes leads to product wastage.

Colour, texture, fragrance:

Plum green tea toner has no color, it looks exactly like plain water. Even the texture is like water, very lightweight. The fragrance is perfume like and a bit strong in my opinion.

My experience with the product:

Plum green tea toner is the best selling toner and I have always wanted to try this toner because it is made especially for oily and acne-prone skin and has amazing ingredients like green tea and glycolic acid. Though it has glycolic acid, this toner cannot be classified as exfoliating toner because of the low percentage of glycolic acid present in it.

I bought this toner because so many people on youtube recommended it. But no one actually mentioned about the fragrance. It has a strong fragrance that can irritate people with sensitive skin. Keep that in mind before buying this toner.

I have used it for over 15 days. I use this toner twice a day, in the morning and night skincare routine. I use this toner after washing my face with Face Shop Rice water Bright Foaming Cleanser. This toner has a water-like texture, it doesn't feel greasy or sticky. I follow it up with sunscreen (day time) and serum at night time.

This toner helps to shrink pores, hydrates skin well, and also controls sebum production. It has also reduced tiny bumps to some extent. Since it's been only 15 days of use, I can't tell if it keeps acne and pimples at bay. But so far so good. I didn't get any pimples since I started using it.

It is a good toner for people with oily and acne prone skin. It shrinks pores and makes skin feel refreshed. But the only issue is that, it has press open cap and has no control over how much product comes out.

UPDATE (25 Nov 2020): It's been 3 months since I am using this toner. Here is what I think about this toner now. So, this toner is not really hydrating. It can dry out the skin, especially in winters. It can also sensitize the skin. I think it's better to avoid this toner in winter. This toner works well in summer.  You can totally use it in summers and other seasons except for winters. As for acne, it might or might not prevent acne, that depends on the other products you include in your skincare routine.

Will I repurchase it?  Mostly yes. I am looking forward to trying Dr sheths Gulab and Glycolic toner next. I might choose one among these 2 to repurchase. (UPDATE: I don't think I will repurchase it anytime soon)

Do I recommend it? Yes, if you have oily and acne-prone skin, definitely give it a try. However, if you are allergic to fragrances, avoid this toner. Also, avoid it in winter.

Available on Amazon, Nykaa, purple and maybe everywhere
